What types of junk do you remove?
Alabama Junk handles nearly all types of non-hazardous junk from homes, businesses and properties throughout the Birmingham metro. We remove old furniture, appliances, electronics, yard debris, construction materials and general household clutter. Whether you are cleaning out a garage, remodeling or getting rid of unwanted items, we have the equipment and experience to haul it away safely and efficiently.
How does your pricing work?
We price by the space your junk takes up in the truck. The crew looks at the load, gives you a number, and you approve it before anything gets lifted. That number is what you pay. No hourly clock, no per-item math, no charge for the estimate. Access is part of it too. A second-floor walkup or a tight basement stair is more labor than a driveway pile, and that is in the quote rather than added afterward.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes, our estimates are free with no obligation. Call us or book online and we will quote you based on your items. Often we can give a rough estimate ahead of time, then finalize the price once we see everything in person. We do not start until you approve the price.
Do you offer same-day junk removal?
Yes. We know junk can pile up unexpectedly and sometimes you need it gone fast. Alabama Junk offers same-day and next-day appointments whenever possible. Our team will work with your schedule to clear your space quickly and efficiently, providing fast service throughout Birmingham and the surrounding area.
Do I need to move my items before you arrive?
Nope. Our team handles the loading and hauling. Whether your items are inside, in the garage or out in the yard, we take care of it start to finish. Just point to what needs to go.
Are you licensed and insured?

How fast can you get here?
Same-day and next-day windows are frequently available, and large same-day jobs are specifically what Alabama Junk is set up to handle. Call early in the day and we can usually fit you in.
Do I have to be there when the crew comes?
No. Rentals, estate cleanouts and property management jobs often run with nobody on site. For those we collect payment before the work starts, then send you confirmation photos of the cleared space when the crew finishes, so you can see the result from wherever you are. Plenty of landlords and agents simply approve the quote by phone after we send through what we are looking at.
Do you take apart sheds, decks and hot tubs?
Yes. Light demolition is a large part of what we do, including sheds, decks and hot tubs. Dismantling is part of the quoted price, not an extra added at the end.
What about concrete and other heavy specialty work?
We handle it, and for the heaviest work such as concrete we bring in a trade partner we already use rather than improvising with the wrong equipment. It is arranged by us and priced into the single number you approve, so it stays one job and one point of contact.
Do you serve my address?
We cover Birmingham and 17 more cities across the metro, including Homewood, Mountain Brook, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer, Trussville and Irondale, plus Tuscaloosa to the southwest. If you are unsure, call with your ZIP code and we will confirm coverage.
Is there anything you will not take?
Hazardous and radioactive materials, and certain chemicals, which we are not permitted to haul. Ask us first if you are unsure about something, because most of what people expect us to refuse we take without a problem.
Why not a price list?
Because volume is what actually drives the cost, and nobody can judge their own volume from a web page. We look at the load, tell you the number, and you decide before anything moves.
When do I find out the price?
Before we lift a single item. The crew sizes the load on arrival and gives you a firm figure. If you do not want it, there is no charge and we leave.
Can you estimate over the phone?
Usually we can give a useful range if you describe what is going. The number is only firm once someone has seen it, which is why the on-site quote is the one that counts.
Will the quote change after the crew arrives?
The number the crew gives you before loading is the number you pay. Nothing is tacked on at the end for fuel, for labor or as a disposal markup. A small number of items carry a facility disposal charge, and the crew tells you about it while quoting, never after.
